I dearly loved to travel. Thank heavens I had a dad that took me to every U.S. state (but Alaska), Canada and Mexico before I was even out of high school!

The man had the patience of a saint, taking on traveling with 3 little hooligans who were a handful.

The only light Motel 6 ever left on for that poor man was

when they caught sight of the three of us.​
 

Now that I'm an adult who understands traveling with children, I'd have advised Dad to simply pack the car full of snacks and let us eat our way to our seatbelts. That would likely have kept us quiet until we'd reached the hometown city limits. If Dad was lucky.
